Principal's Message

Dear Kowboy Families,

I hope you're having a great summer and finding time to relax, travel, and enjoy being together as a family.

Even though students are away, Osceola High School has been busy preparing for the year ahead. Our teachers, staff, coaches, and student leaders are already hard at work making sure we're ready to welcome students back for what promises to be another great school year.

I am especially excited to welcome our newest Kowboys as they take part in our First Rodeo Freshman Orientation and begin their high school journey. We cannot wait to share our traditions, spirit, and commitment to excellence with them.

As the first day of school approaches, please continue to monitor our website, ParentSquare, and social media channels for important updates regarding schedules, orientation events, athletics, activities, and back-to-school information.

Thank you for your continued support of Osceola High School. We are fortunate to have such an incredible community of students, families, staff, and alumni. I can't wait to see our hallways filled with students again and to kick off another successful year together.

Enjoy the remainder of your summer, and we look forward to seeing everyone back on campus soon!

Once a Kowboy, Always a Kowboy!

Warm regards,

Elizabeth Kennedy

Testimonials

Parents

My connection with Osceola High started a long time ago. I was a student here when we first moved to Kissimmee so I started here in first grade and stayed through fifth grade. Now I get to see my boys go to school here and experience things and see how the school has grown in, you know, 25 plus years. It’s been really great to see all the opportunities that they get from coming to a school that’s as connected to the community as Osceola High is. Education is going to happen wherever you are, but the dedication that these teachers show day in and day out is unmatched. It’s always how can we improve for each one of our students?

Reading for Pleasure Study

As a former reading teacher and now the gaming teacher, I find it rather scary that reading and writing are declining. It's the bell work for my classes today. One of the things I preach at my students is that they will never become great game designers if they can't tell amazing stories. These days the only games that win awards are ones with gripping stories. In level 2, I Iead them through writing a multi-act story for an rpg. It's the longest writing assignment many of my students have ever been assigned I'm told. We discuss plot arcs, character archetypes, and other story elements from the creative writing field. But you can't tell award-winning stories if you don't read award-winning stories... https://news.ufl.edu/2025/08/reading-for-pleasure-study/

Amazing Teacher

As a parent who’s put 4 children through the public school system and also an educational interpreter for 13 yrs, I’ve seen a lot of teachers good and not so good, but if you don’t already know, Ms. Polanco is amazing! I have continued to admire her this entire school year. She’s patient and kind but doesn’t allow the students to slack off. The kids are excited to enter her room and see her, and she teaches GEOMETRY!. She is always prepared and has a magical way of making the students feel safe in her room to ask questions, even repeat questions! My student is deaf. He often misses the explanations while his head is bowed to write and then asks questions literally right after Mrs Polanco finishes explaining, but she smiles as if he has just said the most intelligent thing she has ever heard and explains it all again. She makes him feel like a million bucks and that doesn’t happen often to a deaf kid at a hearing school. She is an amazing teacher!
