In addition to the regular curriculum, co-curricular activities assist cadets in learning good citizenship along with experiencing the “esprit de corps” within the AFJROTC program.  To reinforce what is learned in the classroom, cadets participate in many outside activities such as field trips to military bases, aerospace facilities and industries, museums, and civilian airports. Cadets also participate in parades, summer leadership schools, drill team competitions, color and honor guards, and honorary academic groups.

Rocketry Club - A minimum of two launches are held per year.  Cadets must complete three successful launches to earn their Rocketry badge.  Passing an entry test is needed to join and attendance of meetings outside of normal school hours is required.

Field Trips - Cadets in good standing are taken annually on a field trip to at least one active duty military installation.

Awards Ceremony - The Annual Awards Ceremony is held in late April or early May.  Cadets who have demonstrated outstanding leadership capabilities and have participated in various corps activities are recognized and receive awards.

Military Ball – A Military Ball is held annually and is a formal event.  Male cadets will dress in the Semi-Formal Uniform.  Females may wear a Semi-Formal or Formal Dress.  Cadets are welcome to bring a guest.

Adopt-A-Highway – Adopt-A-Highway is held at least semi-annually.  FL-921 is responsible for a 1-mile stretch of Clay Street.

AFJROTC Leadership Camp - Summer camp held at OHS or a camp nearby.  Cadets have the opportunity to learn leadership skills.  Incoming freshmen cadets have the opportunity to get to know returning cadets and earn a promotion prior to school starting!
